How We Build an Explanation
The aim is traceable synthesis: find relevant evidence, separate its claims, compare sources, and explain the result in original language.
Source Selection & Attribution
We may consult scientific literature, government and regulator materials, university resources, breeder or producer statements, product documents, and established cannabis references. The appropriate source depends on the claim.
We prefer primary and official material when it is available. A breeder may be relevant to an origin claim; a regulator is more appropriate for a rule or recall; a research paper is more appropriate for a scientific finding. A source’s inclusion does not mean TIWIH endorses everything that source publishes.
Original Synthesis, Not Republishing
We extract and compare factual claims, then write our own explanation. We cite or link readers to sources so they can inspect the underlying material themselves.
We do not republish another site’s reviews, user stories, proprietary ratings, article text, photography, illustrations, or distinctive creative presentation. Short quotations may appear when the exact wording matters; they should be limited, attributed, and connected to analysis or explanation.
Conflicts, Gaps & Research Dates
Cannabis naming and lineage records are often incomplete. When credible sources disagree, the useful answer may be a clearly labeled disagreement rather than a single definitive claim.
Research dates describe when TIWIH last examined a profile. They do not guarantee that every source on the internet has been found or that a source has not changed since then.
AI-Assisted Research Disclosure
TIWIH uses AI-assisted workflows to discover material, compare claims, organize information, and help draft explanations. An AI response is not treated as evidence or cited as the authority for a factual claim.
Published research should point to independently accessible sources. AI can miss context or make mistakes, so source transparency and corrections remain essential parts of the system.
Evidence Language
Read the Label Before the Claim
These labels help readers understand what kind of support sits behind a statement. None is a promise that a specific product will produce a specific result.
- Source-Supported Fact
- A factual statement supported by one or more cited sources. Source quality and recency still matter.
- Research Evidence
- A finding from scientific literature. A study may be limited, preliminary, or not specific to a named strain.
- Reported Experience
- A pattern people commonly describe. It is not a guaranteed effect or a substitute for controlled research.
- Disputed or Unknown
- Credible sources conflict, the original attribution is unclear, or available evidence is too limited for a firm conclusion.
Independence & Commercial Disclosures
Research Is Not for Sale
- No paid strain placement: A company cannot pay to improve a strain’s research status, confidence, comparison position, or editorial conclusion.
- No disguised advertising: If TIWIH publishes sponsored material in the future, it will be clearly identified near the content rather than presented as independent research.
- Affiliate links are disclosed: Some product links may earn TIWIH a commission. A commission does not change the research standard or turn a product claim into evidence.
- Source inclusion is not endorsement: Citing a source records where a claim came from. It does not endorse the source, company, product, or claim.
The Federal Trade Commission publishes guidance on making advertising disclosures clear and prominent. TIWIH uses that guidance as a reference for commercial labeling; this page is not a representation that every possible legal requirement has been evaluated.
Corrections
Help Us Improve the Record
Cannabis records change, sources conflict, and research can be incomplete. Specific evidence makes a correction request more useful.
Send a Correction or Source
Include the page URL, the statement you believe should change, and a link or citation supporting the correction. TIWIH reviews correction requests and updates content when the available evidence supports a change.
Email an Editorial CorrectionA correction request does not guarantee a particular editorial outcome. Personal experiences can add context, but they do not establish a universal effect or scientific conclusion.
Responsible Source Use
Facts Are Not Someone Else’s Writing
TIWIH focuses on factual research and original synthesis. We do not treat public access as permission to copy protected creative expression.
Our working standard is to identify facts, trace them to appropriate sources, and explain them in original language. We avoid copying article prose, reviews, proprietary ratings, images, or creative presentation. Where exact wording is necessary, quotations should be brief, attributed, and used for a clear explanatory purpose.
The U.S. Copyright Office explains that copyright protects original expression rather than facts or ideas, and that fair use depends on the circumstances. TIWIH does not assume that an educational purpose automatically makes every use permissible.
