Strain not found in search: what to do
Fix a strain that does not appear in Search, and learn how to suggest a missing strain for research.
Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated
Use this page when you search for a strain and it does not show up. First check the search text and your filters. If the strain is still missing, suggest it, and High IQ can check and research it.
What you may see
- “No strains found,” with “No match for” your search text.
- “No match for” your search text “with your filters.”
- “No strains match all your filters. Clear one to see more.”
- “We don’t know this strain yet.” This message appears on a strain page.
- “Strains didn’t load,” with a retry button.
Likely causes
- The search text has a spelling mistake, or it has only one letter.
- The filters are strict. All filters is the default, so a strain must match every filter you picked.
- A High Family, collection, or other filter hides the strain.
- Include strains with limited data is off.
- The strain is not in the library yet.
- The connection is weak, so the list did not load.
Fixes, in order
- Type at least two letters. Check the spelling. Search matches the strain name, effects, and terpenes.
- Tap Clear search if it appears, then try a shorter part of the name.
- Tap Filters, then Clear all. Then tap Show results to see the full list.
- In Filters, turn on Include strains with limited data. It is on by default, so check that it has not been turned off.
- Under Logic, choose Any filter if you want strains that match at least one filter. Keep All filters for a strict search.
- If you see “Strains didn’t load,” check your connection and tap the retry button.
- If the strain is still missing, tap Suggest this strain. Enter the name, tap Check name, then tap Submit for research.
If High IQ says “This may be a misspelling of a strain we have,” check the spelling and search again. If it says “This strain is already in the library,” tap Open strain.
Note: A strain page describes a strain. It is not medical advice. If a dialog says “Details for this strain may be limited or out of date,” you can tap Open anyway to read what is there.
