How to link Apple or Google to your account
Link Apple on your iPhone. Google sign-in stays on the web app. See the New to High IQ screen, Hide My Email, and what to do with two accounts.
Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated
On iPhone, sign in with Apple. You can link that Apple ID to the account you already have. Google sign-in is available on the web app at app.highiq.app, where you can also tap Connect Google. This page explains the New to High IQ? screen, where I already have an account sits, and how to tap Connect Apple. There is no email-code sign-in.
The sign-in sheet title
Create your account is the title of the sign-in sheet. It is not a button.
You see Create your account when the sheet opens outside the Den the first time. A later sign-in on that sheet is titled Continue to High IQ.
Inside the Den, the title is Keep your Den. If you said you have strains to add, the title is Keep your Den and your stash. On a short phone, the panel can show Save your Den instead. A later sign-in in the Den is titled Welcome back.
On iPhone, the button under the title is Continue with Apple. Google sign-in is on the web app, not on this sheet. On the Den sign-up sheet, Not now continues without an account. That is a different control from I already have an account.
The New to High IQ screen
This screen appears when the Apple ID you just used has no High IQ account. The title is New to High IQ?.
The text says High IQ could not find an account for this Apple ID. It asks you to connect that ID to the account you already have, so your stash, history and subscription stay in one place.
Three buttons sit on this screen:
- Create my account makes a new account for this Apple ID. Use it only if you have never used High IQ.
- I already have an account does not make an account. It opens the next screen.
- Back returns to the sign-in sheet. No account is created.
Where I already have an account sits
I already have an account is a button label. It is not a screen title. The app does not use another name for it.
It is not on the sheet titled Create your account or Keep your Den. On iPhone, those sheets offer Continue with Apple. The button sits in two places:
- On New to High IQ?, it is the middle button. It sits under Create my account and above Back. Tap it to open a screen titled Use your existing account.
- On the first Den screen, it sits under Get started. The caption above the buttons is “Your strains. Your notes. Your Den.” That button opens sign-in. The sheet there is titled Welcome back. New to High IQ? appears only after you tap Continue with Apple and that Apple ID has no account.
Use your existing account tells you to sign in the way you did before. It then says to open Profile, then Connected accounts, and connect Apple. After that, Continue with Apple opens the same account.
That screen also explains Hide My Email. Read that section below.
Two more buttons sit on Use your existing account:
- Back to sign-in returns to Continue with Apple.
- Back returns to New to High IQ?.
The on-screen words stay “Profile → Connected accounts”. The list itself is on Edit profile. Use the steps below. Do not look for a renamed button.
Steps: connect Apple on iPhone
Sign in first with the account you want to keep. On iPhone, tap Continue with Apple. If you first signed in with Google, sign in on the web app at app.highiq.app, then open the iPhone app.
- Tap Profile in the tab bar.
- Tap your name or photo to open Edit profile.
- Scroll to Connected accounts.
- Tap Connect Apple.
- Finish the steps from Apple.
- Look for “Apple connected”. The message says you can now use this provider to access your account.
You can also open Edit profile from Settings, then Account, then Profile. Settings, then Privacy, then Connected accounts opens the same screen.
If you cancel, the app says the connection was cancelled. Your profile and existing sign-in methods stay unchanged.
A connected row shows the provider, the email address it shared, and Verified sign-in. The note under the list says “These providers can sign you in.”
If Connect Apple is missing, Apple is already on this account.
Google on the web app
The iPhone app does not offer Continue with Google or Connect Google.
On the web app at app.highiq.app, sign in with Google. In Connected accounts there, tap Connect Google. Finish the steps from Google, then look for “Google connected”.
If Connect Google is missing on the web app, Google is already on that account.
Hide My Email
Hide My Email lets Apple share a private relay address instead of your real email. That address can look like a different account.
High IQ cannot match the private address to an account you made with Google, or with a different Apple address. The app then shows New to High IQ? even when you already have an account.
The Apple note on Use your existing account says this: if you chose Hide My Email, Apple gives a private address. High IQ cannot match it to your account by email, so connect Apple from your account.
Do not tap Create my account when this happens. Sign in the way you did before. Then connect Apple with the steps above.
Already on another account
If that Apple account already belongs to another High IQ account, the connect step fails. The title is “Could not connect Apple”. The message says:
“This Apple account already belongs to another High IQ account. Sign in with it to use that account, or connect a different Apple account.”
On the web app, the same screen can say “Could not connect Google”. That message uses Google in the same places.
If you tap Create my account and that email already has a High IQ account, the app says:
“This email already has a High IQ account. Sign in the way you did before, then connect Apple in Profile → Connected accounts.”
The message names the provider you tapped. Follow the connect steps on this page. The list is on Edit profile.
An email you add on Edit profile can show “That email address is already connected to an account.” That address is already on a High IQ account. It is not a new sign-in button. Read How to edit your profile.
Two accounts
The app cannot merge two accounts. If you tapped Create my account and you already had an account, you now have two. Your stash, history and subscription stay on the first account.
Email hello@highailabs.com. Say that you have two accounts. Include the Apple or Google address on each one. Include a Hide My Email address if Apple used one. Also include your iPhone model, your iOS version and your High IQ app version.
If something goes wrong
- “You appear to be offline. Reconnect and try again.” Check your connection, then tap Connect Apple again. On the web app, tap Connect Google again.
- The row says Verification needed. Tap Retry on that row.
Still not working? Email hello@highailabs.com. Include your iPhone model, your iOS version, your High IQ app version, and what you were doing.
Frequently asked questions
Why does New to High IQ appear when I already have an account?
That Apple ID is not on your High IQ account yet. Hide My Email can cause this, because Apple shares a private relay address. Tap I already have an account, sign in the way you did before, then tap Connect Apple from Edit profile. If you first used Google, sign in on the web app at app.highiq.app.
Is Create your account a button?
No. Create your account is the title of the sign-in sheet outside the Den. On iPhone, the button is Continue with Apple. Create my account is the button that makes a new account, and it appears only on New to High IQ.
Can High IQ merge two accounts?
No. The app has no way to merge accounts. Email hello@highailabs.com and say you have two accounts. Include the Apple or Google address on each one.
High IQ is a personal record for adults where cannabis is legal. Follow your local laws. Strain information is descriptive and is not medical advice.
