How to review your privacy settings

Review device permissions, Siri and Spotlight, usage analytics, and AI permissions in High IQ privacy settings.

Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated

Privacy settings let you control what High IQ can access, what it suggests on your iPhone, and which features can send your content to AI providers. You can change most settings at any time.

How to open Privacy

  1. Tap Profile in the tab bar.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy.

Account and data

  • Receipt finder is for Gmail receipt import. It is not available to everyone yet. It is on the web app only for now, and it is not in the iPhone app. Read Gmail receipt import is not available yet.
  • Connected accounts lists the sign-in methods and email addresses on your account.
  • Delete account opens Edit profile, where you start the deletion. Read How to delete your High IQ account.

Device permissions

Tap Manage device permissions to open the iPhone settings for High IQ. Change camera or photo access there. Some features do not work until you allow that access.

Privacy information

  • Privacy Policy opens the full policy. Read How High IQ uses your data for a summary.
  • Request privacy help opens an email draft titled “High IQ privacy request.”

Siri and Spotlight

Turn on Suggest in Siri and Spotlight to let Siri suggest things you do often, such as logging a session. Strains and notebooks can also appear in Spotlight search.

Turn it off to remove those suggestions and search results. Siri voice commands and Shortcuts still work.

Usage analytics

Share usage analytics is on by default. When it is on, High IQ sends app activity linked to your account. This includes the screens you open and the features you use. Typed notes, photos, your name and your email address are not sent.

Turn it off to stop new activity from being sent from your iPhone. High IQ also stops sending events for your account. The exception is purchase and subscription events. These are still recorded.

AI permissions

This section has one row for each AI feature: AI chat, AI label scanning, AI receipt reading, AI notebooks, AI email import (only shown if email import is available on your account) and AI shopping recommendations. Each row shows Allowed or Off. Tap a row to see what is sent and which providers receive it. Each permission is separate. Turning one off does not change the others, and your manual records and other features stay available.

The providers named on each row are:

  • AI chat. Vercel AI Gateway routes the request. Anthropic, OpenAI or Google answers, depending on the model. Search queries and strain names taken from your conversation may be sent to Firecrawl, Exa and TypeSafe AI (Jev).
  • AI label scanning. Vercel AI Gateway, OpenAI and Google. Video may go directly to Google Gemini.
  • AI receipt reading. Vercel AI Gateway, Anthropic and OpenAI.
  • AI notebooks. Vercel AI Gateway, Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, TypeSafe AI (Jev), and Exa. Exa verifies recorded strain names.
  • AI email import (only shown if email import is available on your account). TypeSafe AI (Jev), Vercel AI Gateway, OpenAI and Anthropic. Generating a notebook also needs the separate AI notebooks permission.
  • AI shopping recommendations. Vercel AI Gateway, Anthropic, OpenAI and TypeSafe AI (Jev).

Note: A request that was already sent cannot be recalled. Turning off a permission only affects later requests.

If a change does not save

If you see “Could not save this setting. Try again.”, tap the switch again. Check that your iPhone is connected to the internet.
