Why High IQ checks your age

Learn why High IQ asks you to confirm you are 21 or older, what the app saves, and what happens if you answer under 21.

Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated

High IQ is made for adults in places where cannabis is legal. The app asks you to confirm that you are 21 or older before you use it. This page explains what the check does and what it saves.

What the check looks like

On the screen titled You must be 21 or older to use High IQ, you see two choices:

  • I am 21 or older
  • I am under 21

Tap the choice that is true for you. If you tap I am 21 or older, you can continue with the app.

What the app saves

The app saves your confirmation. It does not save your birthday.

If you are under 21

If you tap I am under 21, the app shows a message. It says that High IQ is for adults in legal cannabis states, and that you can return when you are 21 or older.

  • Tap I tapped the wrong answer to return to the question.
  • If you are signed in, you also see Sign out.

Note: Laws about cannabis differ by place. Check the laws where you live. High IQ does not change those laws.

If the app also asks for an invite code, the invite screen asks you to confirm your age too. Read How to use an invite code.
