How to use an invite code

Enter your five-digit High IQ invite code on first open, or apply a code later in Settings, and learn what each error message means.

High IQ is invite-only right now. When the app asks for an invite code, enter the five-digit code on the first open screen. The code is checked on the server.

Before you start

  • Have your five-digit invite code ready.
  • Keep your iPhone connected to the internet.
  • Confirm that you are 21 or older. The invite screen asks you to confirm your age too.

Steps

  1. On the screen titled High IQ is invite-only right now, tap the Invite code field.
  2. Type the five digits. You can paste the code. Spaces are removed for you.
  3. Tick the 21+ confirmation.
  4. Tap Continue. The button stays off until the code, the age answer and the internet connection are ready. While the code is checked, you see Checking code….
  5. Continue with the next first-open step. Read How to set up High IQ on first open.

Apply a code later

If you are already signed in, you can apply a code in Settings. Tap Account, then Apply invite code. The same code field opens.

Errors and what to do

  • “Connect to the internet to check your invite code.” Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data. Then tap Continue again.
  • “We don’t recognize that invite code. Check it and try again.” Check each digit. Type the code again.
  • “That invite code is no longer active.” The code cannot be used anymore. Tap Request an invite to ask for a new one.
  • “That invite code has no spots left.” The code has reached its limit. Tap Request an invite.
  • “That invite code has expired.” The code is too old to use. Tap Request an invite.
  • “Too many tries. Wait a few minutes and try again.” Wait a few minutes. Then try again.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste my invite code?

Yes. High IQ removes spaces from the code, so a pasted code works. The code must have exactly five digits.

What if I do not have an invite code?

Tap Request an invite on the invite screen. It opens the public request page.

Do I need to enter the code again after I accept it?

No. The phone remembers that the code was accepted, so the invite screen does not return on that phone. A new phone, or this phone after you reinstall High IQ, asks for the code again.
