App slow or crashing: what to do

Fix a slow, frozen or closing High IQ app with simple checks, then report the problem if it keeps happening.

Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated

Use this page when High IQ is slow to load, freezes, or closes by itself. Most problems clear up after a restart or an update. If the app keeps failing, report the problem so the team can look at it.

What you may see

  • “You are offline.”
  • “Something went wrong. Try again in a moment.”
  • A screen that stays on a loading message, such as “Searching strains…”
  • The app closes and returns you to the Home Screen.

Likely causes

  • The internet connection is weak or unstable.
  • The app is out of date.
  • The iPhone is low on storage or has many apps open.
  • A short problem on the service side.

Fixes, in order

  1. Check your connection. Open a screen that needs internet, such as Search. If it is slow, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or move closer to your Wi-Fi network.
  2. Close High IQ fully from the app switcher. Then open it again.
  3. Restart your iPhone.
  4. Open the App Store and update High IQ if an update is listed.
  5. Clear some storage on your iPhone. Open Settings, tap General, then iPhone Storage, and remove files or apps you no longer need.
  6. Check your app version. Open Settings, then tap the What’s New row under the About heading. The page shows CURRENT VERSION and the app version.
  7. If the problem continues, report it. Open Settings, go to Support, and tap Report a bug.

Note: If only one screen is slow or closes, write down its name. It helps the team find the problem.

Frequently asked questions

How do I report a bug?

Open Settings, then Support, and tap Report a bug. Include what you were doing when the problem started.

Will restarting the app delete my data?

No. Restarting the app does not delete your saved data. It only closes and opens the app again.

Why does the app say I am offline?

High IQ needs an internet connection for most screens. Check your Wi-Fi or mobile data, then try again.
