How to keep a journal note for a strain
Write a note, rate aroma, flavor, and mind-body high, and add dated entries to a strain in your notebook journal.

Your journal holds your notes and ratings for each strain. You can write a note in a notebook or in the Notes tab.
Before you start
- Sign in to your account.
- Open a notebook, or go to the Notes tab.
Steps
- Open the notebook reader, then tap Journal at the top.
- Find the strain you want to write about.
- Rate the strain. Each rating is a whole number from 1 to 5:
- Aroma
- Flavor
- Mind-body high
- Write your note in the box. The box says Aroma, flavor, how you felt, or something to remember…
- Under Which product?, pick Any product of this strain, or tap Pick one to choose a product.
- Optional: set Time of day (optional).
- Optional: turn on Use this in future notebooks if you want this note to feed later notebooks. Your note stays private.
The journal also asks three short questions. You can use them to get started:
- What did you notice?
- How did it compare with what you expected?
- What would help you remember this later?
Add a dated entry
Use a dated entry when you want to record more than one session.
- Tap Add dated entry.
- Tap Add date to set the date. Tap Clear date to remove it.
- Write the entry, then save it.
To change an entry, tap Edit entry. To remove one, tap Delete entry. You see Delete dated entry? first. Your other entries and your note stay.
Log a use from your stash
If the strain is in your stash, tap Had it to log a use. This changes the amount in your stash. Tap Undo to reverse the last log.
If the strain is not in your stash, you see Add to stash to log. Add the product to your stash first. See Add an item to your stash.
Find an entry
Use the search box, Search this journal. You can sort by By date or By strain. You can also filter by With notes or Unrated.
Note: To remove your note and ratings for a strain, use the delete option for the note. The dialog asks Delete note? and removes your note and ratings for that strain in this notebook only.

Frequently asked questions
Can I rate a strain more than once?
Yes. Add a dated entry for each session. Each entry can have its own note and time of day.
What happens when I tap Had it?
If the strain is in your stash, High IQ logs the use and changes the amount in your stash. Tap Undo to reverse the last log.
