What are notebooks in High IQ?

Learn what a notebook is, where notebooks come from, and how to find them in the Notebooks tab.

Applies to the High IQ iPhone app · Updated

A notebook is a written guide about a set of strains. High IQ writes it from your records, such as the orders and stash items you choose. You read it in the Notebooks tab, and you can add your own notes to it.

Notebooks may not be available to everyone yet. If creating notebooks is paused, you see a message that says Notebooks are paused. Your saved orders and notebooks stay in the app.

What a notebook covers

A notebook can include these sections, in this order:

  • Cover and Selection: what’s in this notebook
  • Strains: the lineup and Compare: side by side
  • Chemistry and Effects & sensory
  • Plan: when to reach for what
  • Supply: how long this lasts
  • History: you and these strains
  • Safety: before you start
  • Sources: where this comes from
  • Closing: one more thing

If a section has no data, it shows No data.

Note: A notebook describes strains. It is not medical advice. It does not tell you how much to use. Read the Safety: before you start section, and ask a doctor or pharmacist about any health question.

Where notebooks come from

You can make a notebook in two ways:

Find your notebooks

Open the Notebooks tab. The tab has three views at the top:

  • Library lists all your notebooks. Use it to open, search, filter, and archive them.
  • Journey shows Your journey so far. It has summary cards from your orders and your log. It is empty until you have activity.
  • Notes holds your journal notes for each strain. See Keep a journal note.

If you have no notebooks yet, the Library shows No notebooks yet. Tap Add order or Create from stash to start one.

Good to know

  • A notebook has a status while it is being written. You can see its progress in a sheet. Tap Minimize notebook progress to keep it running in the background.
  • You can stop a notebook before it is ready. Tap Cancel generation, then Stop. You can try again later from your library.
  • To read a notebook, see Read a notebook.
  • To organize your notebooks, see Organize your notebooks.
